It is considered conventional for you to switch of for 6-8 hours in a 24-hr period, so why did you keep running on full for 23 consecutive hours yesterday even I spent 3 hours lying in a dark room trying various of the usual tricks which persuades you to switch off. It took a further two hours of work/spod before my body was exhausted to the point of tears for you to get the message. Now slightly over two hours later you've decided to switch on again. I know the phone rang and that I need to get work done but ...

Have you tried a combination of mind-blanking using an eyes trick and a damp piece of fabric?

[livejournal.com profile] roadtravelled has a variant on the mind-blanking and if you use damp clothing, it cools you down enough to sleep. Friends who've been to africa swear by it.
The damp clothing works like a wetsuit, so, unlike normal sweaty skin, you don't get hypothermia.
