The disappearance of Wales!

yrieithyddI know it's not very big as countries go, but how does one lose Wales from a map of Europe?
I can't find the story on the BBC site, but I've just heard in on the midnight news! A European Book of Statistics has excised Wales. There's just a line from Chester to the Severn and nothing to the West of it until one reaches Ireland!
