I've just noticed a thread about the cursing of the fig-tree I was particularly interested in Ken's comments about the length of time that figs take to mature and thus the fact that even out of season it is possible to see whether there would be figs.

That's neat, but what is neater and more pleasing to me is the idea that doing what is natural when God wants you to be doing something unnatural is a failing in his eyes. That makes even more sense of it all. Not sure it helps me with my liking God problem, but it helps with the understanding...

Have you heard Theresa of Avila's comment of `if this is how you treat your friends then I'm not surprised that you don't have many?' Though I've a feeling that that's a slightly different sort of disliking.

What is it that you don't like about God?
