Well, I've done my duty as a citizen for another year. Had to queue for 20 minutes to vote. The General Election appears to be getting a better turn out than the Locals or even last year's European, although I think I voted at a different time last year. Only wanting a local vote didn't cause problems. I expected to find that out last year, but my Cardiff papers arrived too late to be of any use, which was a shame as it meant I couldn't vote for the party I wanted too (and in the European that vote would actually be worth something as there is PR!). I've never had to queue for a vote.
I still haven't acheived the take polling card to polling station in Cambridge. I left it by the front door because then I knew where it was and it was still there yesterday morning, but when I got in last night it had gone. Remembering one's number does make life simpler though as it meant she found me much more quickly.
