That's probably alright then. If you were in the habit of saying "Open square brackets, grins, close square brackets," then it would be more worrying.

"grins". Usage is in a queue where the individual being spoken to is half-facing the person doing the speaking after a witty comment, instead of merely relying on facial expression.

What's really weird is that I didn't immediately see anything wrong in this sentence....
