Faff

I emailed my college card representative on Monday to report the loss of my university card and request a new one. I was told it should arrive on Wednesday. I called in at the p'lodge on my way home last night. No card. Today, I was pondering what to do about lunch as 72p won't buy very much and I thought `I know, if I go to college and pick up the card I can eat in buttery'. I got to college just gone 1pm. No card. The porters knew some had just arrived so directed me to Claire Claydon's office. She wasn't there but Sue Free was. Sue looked for the card, but it wasn't amongst the four or so that had arrived. She checked the system and it was down and `not printable', possibly because my end date is too close* so she extended my end date and it went to `in print queue'. She also phoned the buttery and arranged for them to cope with charging my account without the card so I did at least get lunch. Now I have to go to the card office this afternoon to pick up the new one, or I won't get it in time (via college) to get Faculty access sorted.

*For some reason it is given as 18-06-06 which is odd. The previous one was 05-01-06 which was my original submission date but I deferred it until 01-07-06.
